Electronica is an umbrella term for electronic music. It is said that it refers to electronic music and all musical genres that are influenced by electronic music, but in that case it also refers to most of contemporary music. Therefore, I am writing an article about what genres are included in electronica and what kind of history it has.
What is electronica?
Electronica is any genre of music influenced by electronic music or electronic music. One of the most popular genres in the 2000s, it has had a wide range of influences on commercial music and improvised music. It doesn’t necessarily refer only to dance music. Since the 2000s, there has been an increase in electronica songs that partially use programming. Popular artists also incorporate this taste, and it is quite widely recognized. Electronica is one of the popular genres among young people as it has become possible to create more detailed and complex music through the development of software and hardware. It is also a very widely used term, as it is often used in a broad sense. What genre does it actually belong to?
Club Music
Club music that partially uses programming is often called electronica music. Even if you say club music, genres such as disco are relevant, but music that uses electronic music is often called electronica.

It may seem surprising, but hip-hop music is sometimes classified as electronica. There is also a lot of music that fuses electronica and hip-hop, and it often includes these genres.
Dance Music
Most of dance music is said to be immersive music and is classified as electronica. Advances in software and hardware have enabled electronica to create elaborate and complex music, and further development is expected.
history
The term electronica is said to have originated in the late 1900s. Perhaps in the 1990s, in England and Germany, this genre began to be played in clubs, and the recognition that club music = electronica spread. Music magazines started using it in the mid-1990s, and it was recognized by the general public. However, at that time, there were still many people who used expressions such as chemical breaks and big beats. Electronica in the 1990s has a lot of styles that incorporate live instruments. These were also called folk electronica.
HomeIn the 2000s, it really became popular. This is because the genre of electronic music has become able to create more precise music through the innovation of hardware and software, which has spawned a large number of creators. As a result, an all-electronic sound became popular and continues to this day. Madonna, Björk, Daft Punk and others have embraced these musical tastes. Many active musicians incorporate elements of electronica into their popular genre music.
